It said it is cooperating with the National Police, the National Bureau of Investigation and the Ministry of Information Technology to <strong>crack down on illegal operators<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In May, PAGCOR announced that\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/philippines-pagcor-to-receive-revenue-from-licensed-e-sabong\">two licensed e-sabong<\/a> operators started to operate. In June, it approved\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/the-philippines-approves-two-more-e-sabong-operators\">two more applications<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PAGCOR chairman Andrea Domingo<\/strong>&nbsp;said the maximum number of e-sabong licences would be 12. She said there were currently 12 applications pending, but that&nbsp;<strong>only 8 new entrants will be allowed<\/strong>&nbsp;to enter the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Domingo said PAGCOR chose to regulate e-sabong to eradicate illegal gambling and\u00a0<strong>make up for lost revenue from its land-based casinos and online gaming companies<\/strong>, which have been hit hard by countermeasures to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She predicted that licensed\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/the-philippines-e-sabong-operators-could-see-php3-5bn-in-revenue\">e-sabong operators<\/a>\u00a0in the Philippines could generate revenue of between PHP3bn to PHP3.5bn this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PAGOR and IEC confirm agreement to develop New Coast Hotel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>International Entertainment Corporation (IEC)<\/strong>, has been notified by its subsidiary Marina Square Properties (MSPI) that it has received a signed&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/iec-announces-agreement-with-pagcor-to-develop-new-coast-hotel\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cooperation Agreement<\/a>&nbsp;from PAGCOR for the development of its New Coast Hotel property in Manila. The agreement is valid until March 31, 2031.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement had been postponed due to the&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/manila-to-ease-covid-19-restrictions-from-august-21\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">enhanced community quarantine<\/a>&nbsp;(ECQ) imposed in Manila between August 6 to August 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IEC\u2019s New Coast Hotel will feature<strong>&nbsp;250 gaming tables, 100 junket tables, 1,600 slot machines&nbsp;<\/strong>and 800 5-star luxury hotel rooms, as well as restaurants, leisure facilities and shopping arcades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the company filling,&nbsp;<strong>MSPI and PAGCOR will establish a joint management committee&nbsp;<\/strong>as a governing body for the management and operations of the casino and will immediately commence casino operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MSPI has the authority to participate in the management of the casino through the six-member committee.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PAGCOR has announced it collected US$19.9m from e-sabong operators in their first four months of operation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":18057,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"PAGCOR has reported collecting US$19.9m from licensed e-sabong operators in their initial four months, projecting up to PHP3.5bn in annual revenue as a strategy to combat illegal gambling and offset pandemic-induced losses from traditional gaming verticals.
