The company <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/okura-holdings-permanently-closes-two-pachinko-venues\">closed two venues in May<\/a>\u00a0due to the crisis in the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Okura Holdings said the closure was to allow a <strong>focus on better-performing outlets.<\/strong> One of the<strong>\u00a0pachinko venues<\/strong>\u00a0is located in Fukuoka Prefecture, while the other two are in Kawasaki city, Kanagawa Prefecture. All three ceased operations on August 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The operator said: &#8220;Taking into account the general adverse operating landscape and the<strong>\u00a0increasing competition from other forms of entertainment in Japan<\/strong>, the management considered it would be more beneficial to the group to focus its resources on other more promising pachinko halls.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Okura Holdings now has 12 Pachinko Venues<\/strong>, most of them located in Nagasaki Prefecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Okura Holdings purchases a property in Nagasaki city for US$4m<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to&nbsp;<strong>diversify its income streams&nbsp;<\/strong>due to the&nbsp;<strong>impact of the Covid-19 pandemic<\/strong>&nbsp;on its business, Okura Holdings&nbsp;<strong>bought a 650 square-metre lot<\/strong>, a seven-story building, and a parking lot situated in Nagasaki\u2019s Sumiyoshimachi area for JPY442m (US$4m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Okura Holdings said it has been exploring opportunities to enhance and diversify its revenue stream.
