The company had previously planned to operate gaming tables at a casino in Sihanoukville but decided to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/century-signs-table-gaming-deal-at-new-cambodian-casino\">transfer the gaming tables to the Dara Sakor Casino<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company said it has been informed that\u00a0<strong>training and testing of the casino system will begin in September<\/strong>, and that the gaming business will begin operations in October.\u00a0It expects to operate <strong>two tables<\/strong> initially until conditions in the supplementary framework agreement are met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company <strong>forecasts that annual net cash inflows<\/strong>\u00a0from the gaming tables will be enough to cover the group&#8217;s expected annual operating costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In June,&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/century-entertainment-posts-full-year-losses-of-hk43m\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Century Entertainment<\/a>&nbsp;published its annual results for the year ending March 31, showing&nbsp;<strong>revenue of HK$0.7m, down 98.4 per cent&nbsp;<\/strong>year-on-year from HK$45.9m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company said the&nbsp;<strong>decrease was mainly due to the Covid-19 pandemic<\/strong>&nbsp;and the temporary closure of casinos in Cambodia since April 1, 2020, a measure that affected its&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/century-delays-cambodian-mass-gaming-table-business-until-april\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">gaming table business<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Century Entertainment reported<strong>\u00a0a net loss of HK$43m,<\/strong>\u00a0compared to a loss of HK$38.1m for the previous fiscal year. The increased loss was mainly due to the decrease in revenue. The company said\u00a0<strong>amortisation on the intangible assets\u00a0<\/strong>concerning the gaming table business also affected the numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cambodian authorities to reopen the country\u2019s borders in November<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government of<strong>&nbsp;Cambodia<\/strong>&nbsp;has said that it hopes to reopen the country\u2019s borders<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>in&nbsp;<strong>November<\/strong>, although some believe that could be delayed until December or early 2022.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In July,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/cambodia-to-temporarily-close-borders-with-vietnam-amid-covid-19-cases\">the government<\/a>\u00a0<strong>suspended entries and exits with Vietnam<\/strong>\u00a0in an attempt to avoid a rise in Covid-19 cases.
