Those arrested were found<strong>\u00a0gambling on the second floor<\/strong>\u00a0of a building on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the raid,\u00a0<strong>officers seized a poker table<\/strong>, poker playing cards, coin chips, a money-counting machine and money. According to local media reports,\u00a0<strong>those arrested had private bodyguards<\/strong>\u00a0whose guns were also seized for firearms verification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Local officers said they were reinforcing operations against illegal gambling activities tor reduce criminal activity in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In July,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/philippines-28-arrested-for-illegal-gambling-in-quezon-city\">authorities arrested 28 people<\/a>\u00a0in a series of raids related to alleged\u00a0<strong>illegal gambling operations<\/strong>. Nine of those arrested were said to be\u00a0<strong>betting on an illegal online cockfighting match<\/strong>\u00a0in Barangay Socorro, while four people were arrested after police discovered they were playing an illegal numbers game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to PhilStar,<strong>\u00a0another four people were betting on an illegal cockfight<\/strong>\u00a0in Nagkaisang Nayon. Police seized the fighting cocks and cash.
