{"id":22108,"date":"2021-08-30T14:01:02","date_gmt":"2021-08-30T17:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=22108"},"modified":"2026-04-23T16:10:52","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T19:10:52","slug":"nagasaki-and-casinos-austria-sign-master-agreement-for-ir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/nagasaki-and-casinos-austria-sign-master-agreement-for-ir","title":{"rendered":"Nagasaki and Casinos Austria sign master agreement for IR"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Nagasaki Prefectural Government has signed a \u201cmaster agreement\u201d with Casinos Austria International Japan Inc for the development of an integrated resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Japan.- After the Nagasaki Prefectural Government announced\u00a0<strong>Casinos Austria International Japan Inc<\/strong>\u00a0as its\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/nagasaki-chooses-casinos-austria-as-ir-partner\">partner for its IR bid<\/a>, authorities have now signed a master agreement with the casino operator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement names the project the<strong>\u00a0\u201cKyushu-Nagasaki IR\u201d<\/strong>, referring to the Kyushu region, of which Nagasaki form a part. The Nagasaki Prefectural Government also revealed<strong>\u00a0the planned total investment for the IR development is JPY350bn (US$3.2bn).<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hodo Nakamura, Nagasaki\u2019s governor, said: &#8220;The operator\u2019s business proposal is backed by a business track record in Europe and other international markets and<strong>\u00a0aims to realise a traditional and luxurious integrated resort\u00a0<\/strong>of the world\u2019s highest standard.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added: &#8220;The Kyushu-Nagasaki IR will vitalise the local economy and tourism industry affected by Covid-19, and also contribute to the development of the Kyushu region and our country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/nagasaki-casinos-austria-wants-220-gaming-tables-for-ir\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Casinos Austria<\/a>&nbsp;said its plans to&nbsp;<strong>build a casino resort with 220 gaming tables and 2,200 slot machines<\/strong>. It said the casino would have&nbsp;<strong>a total footprint of around 9,000 square metres (96,875 sq feet)&nbsp;<\/strong>and would \u201coffer a gaming experience of the highest international standards.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The group also plans to build eight hotels,<\/strong>&nbsp;conference and exhibition facilities with a variety of dining and retail options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Casinos Austria currently operates 25 casinos in several countries<\/strong>\u00a0and owns 12 casinos in Austria as well as a lottery business, Austrian Lotteries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The prefecture will&nbsp;<strong>make a submission to Japan\u2019s national government by 2022&nbsp;<\/strong>in its bid for permission to develop an integrated resort. Nakamura expects to send the plan before April 28, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Japan\u2019s Integrated Resorts Implementation Act<\/strong>, which foresees an initial three IRs, was&nbsp;<strong>implemented on July 19<\/strong>.
