The Philippines.- Department of Health secretary Francisco Duque III has said he expects the Philippines\u00a0to achieve a 70 per cent vaccination rate<\/strong>\u00a0for Covid-19 by February 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He said the country is progressing at an average daily rate of nearly 400,000 vaccinations per day<\/strong>, however, the process has been slow due to delays in the arrival of vaccines. To date\u00a0only 12.2 per cent of the Philippines\u2019 population<\/strong>\u00a0has been fully vaccinated.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Several\u00a0Manila’s IRs have rolled out vaccination programmes<\/strong>\u00a0in order to get their staff vaccinated. The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (PAGCOR<\/a>) has announced\u00a0a workforce immunisation rate of 94 per cent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The regulator said 11,473 employees out of 12,176 were vaccinated against Covid-19 and added it hopes to complete the immunization of 100 per cent of its workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bloomberry Resorts<\/a>\u00a0and Hotels\u2019\u00a0Solaire Resort & Casino\u00a0<\/strong>in Metro Manila has completed its vaccination programme<\/strong>\u00a0for its day-to-day staff after launching a\u00a0free jab programme back in June<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another casino in the Philippines,\u00a0Okada Manila<\/a>, also announced the launch of a free programme to vaccinate all\u00a0<\/strong>of its staff against Covid-19\u00a0by the fourth quarter of 2021<\/strong>. The company will work with AC Health to vaccinate\u00a0more than 5,700 team members<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Despite\u00a0Manila<\/a>\u00a0easing Covid-19 countermeasures following a recommendation from the country\u2019s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases,\u00a0<\/strong>casinos remain shut<\/a>\u00a0and there have been no announcements on a possible reopening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Manila has moved from enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) to a modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ)<\/strong>.
