{"id":21743,"date":"2021-08-19T13:36:02","date_gmt":"2021-08-19T16:36:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=21743"},"modified":"2026-04-23T16:28:47","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T19:28:47","slug":"sjm-chairman-spends-us3-45m-on-purchase-of-company-stocks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/sjm-chairman-spends-us3-45m-on-purchase-of-company-stocks","title":{"rendered":"SJM chairman spends US$3.45m on purchase of company stocks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Daisy Ho Chiu Fung has made five purchases of SJM Holdings stock for nearly HKD26.9m (US$3.45m), increasing her position in the company to 0.13 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Macau.- Between August 11 and August 17,\u00a0<strong>Daisy Ho Chiu Fung<\/strong>, SJM chairman and executive director,\u00a0<strong>spent HKD26.9m (US$3.45m) on buying company stocks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The latest transaction was on August 17 when Ho Chiu Fung spent nearly\u00a0<strong>HKD6.37m on 1m shares\u00a0<\/strong>at an average price per share of HKD6.3715.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SJM Holdings\u2019 share price is currently at its lowest level in the past 18 months<\/strong>, with a value stock of HKD6.120 per share. However, last year the value reached a low of HKD5.900 when the Covid-19 pandemic affected Macau&#8217;s tourism sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to a series of<strong>&nbsp;travel restrictions imposed by the Macau government and the Chinese mainland authorities<\/strong>, the number of arrivals and tourism businesses in Macau dropped sharply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SJM Holdings revenue up 19 per cent for H1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/sjm-holdings-posts-us188-5m-net-loss-for-h1\">SJM Holdings<\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>has reported that\u00a0<strong>revenue in the first six months<\/strong>\u00a0of the year was\u00a0<strong>up 19 per cent\u00a0<\/strong>year-on-year to HKD5.22bn. <strong>Adjusted EBITDA<\/strong>\u00a0came in at HKD510m in the second quarter with a negative margin of 9.8 per cent, compared with<strong>\u00a0a negative 22.5 per cent in 2020. <\/strong>Net losses reached HKD1.47bn (US$ 188.5m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company said that despite the Covid-19 pandemic, \u201c<strong>certain results showed improvement&nbsp;<\/strong>in comparison with the first half of 2020.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Net gaming revenue was up 18.8 per cent year-on-year<\/strong>&nbsp;to HKD5.08bn while mass-market table GGR was up 33.2 per cent to HKD4.39bn.&nbsp;<strong>VIP gross revenue<\/strong>&nbsp;for the first half stood at HKD855.6m, down 37.5 per cent, while revenue from slot machines was up 12.7 per cent year-on-year to HKD264.6m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SJM opened one of the&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/grand-lisboa-palace-partial-opening-announced-for-july-30\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grand Lisboa Palace<\/a>\u2018s hotel towers last week after a long delay.
