However, the decision may change in the following months as a\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/hong-kong-macau-travel-bubble-expected-in-september\">travel bubble<\/a>\u00a0could be launched by September on a \u201climited scale.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That plan was delayed in July due to<strong>\u00a0Hong Kong reporting a new case of Covid-19 since June 7<\/strong>. Macau has set a requirement of 28 days with no new cases to launch a travel bubble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However,\u00a0<strong>Macau authorities<\/strong>\u00a0are reported to have invited experts from China\u2019s National Health Commission to<strong>\u00a0inspect the situation in Macau\u00a0<\/strong>and provide opinions on a possible relaxation of travel restrictions with Hong Kong.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hong Kong gives up on travel bubble plans with Singapore<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In July, during a legislative council meeting, lawmakers said that Hong Kong\u2019s\u00a0<strong>focus should be on keeping Covid-19 cases under control<\/strong>\u00a0to facilitate travel to mainland China rather than on a potential<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/hong-kong-to-give-up-on-travel-bubble-plans-with-singapore\">\u00a0travel bubble with Singapore<\/a>.\u00a0The decision came after Singapore relaxed some of its Covid-19 countermeasures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to RTHK, Michael Tien, roundtable lawmaker, said: \u201cThe mainland will not tolerate any loopholes at our airport.
