He was also asked if he consulted the RSG team regarding the purchase of poker machines. He said that the RSG team wasn&#8217;t involved in purchasing decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to current laws,<strong>&nbsp;Crown Perth is the only venue allowed to operate the so-called pokies<\/strong>&nbsp;in the state of Western Australia.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Crown Perth provided credit for gambling<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The inquiry has heard that\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/crown-perth-provided-credit-for-gambling-inquiry-hears\">Crown Perth<\/a>\u00a0approved credit for Australian and international gamblers<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>despite this being prohibited under WA laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also emerged that\u00a0<strong>Simon Pan<\/strong>, a brothel owner who was being investigated for human trafficking, was able enter\u00a0<strong>Crown Perth 29 times<\/strong>\u00a0after being banned from Crown Melbourne. <strong>Lonnie Bossi<\/strong>, Crown Perth chief executive, said information between the two casinos could not be shared until recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bossi is also being investigated as\u00a0<strong>he was a signatory on the Riverbank bank account<\/strong>\u00a0that, according to the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/crown-perth-licence-under-review-by-wa-royal-commission\">Bergin inquiry<\/a>, was linked to money laundering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Crown Perth could lose casino licence before the end of the Royal Commission<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/crown-perths-licence-could-be-cancelled-before-end-of-inquiry\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Paul Evans<\/a>, GWC\u2019s lawyer, said that although the&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/wa-royal-commission-extends-inquiry-into-crown-perth\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Western Australian Royal Commission<\/a>&nbsp;into&nbsp;<strong>Crown Perth will continue until March 2022<\/strong>, the gaming regulator may call on Racing and Gaming Minister Reece Whitby to cancel Crown\u2019s licence before the ending of the inquiry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Evans said: \u201c<strong>The GWC will not necessarily await these conclusions&nbsp;<\/strong>if matters disclosed give rise to a need to take action immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The WA Royal Commission was expected to deliver&nbsp;<strong>a final report by November 14&nbsp;<\/strong>but Western Australia Premier Mark McGowan said: \u201cThe state government believes that public interest will be best served if the Perth casino Royal Commission has sufficient time to produce its final report.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>James Sullivan, gaming product manager, has said the company\u2019s responsible service of gaming (RSG) team had no input on purchasing decisions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":20056,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"The Western Australia Royal Commission has uncovered significant governance and compliance failures at Crown Perth, including the RSG team's lack of involvement in poker machine purchases and high-spender data, and the provision of prohibited gambling credit.
