Universal Entertainment has reported a net loss of JPY11.72bn (US$106.8m) for the second quarter of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Japan.- Gaming company\u00a0Universal Entertainment Corp<\/strong>\u00a0has published its financial results for the second quarter of the year, reporting\u00a0that net sales declined 56.4 per cent <\/strong>to\u00a0JPY28.61bn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The company reported that the Okada Manila integrated resort saw a loss of JPY2.02bn for the first half of the year as the casino venue has been\u00a0operating at reduced capacity<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Universal Entertainment<\/a>\u00a0previously reported\u00a0<\/strong>net sales down 64 per cent year-on-year at JPY14.7bn (US$134.1m)\u00a0in the first quarter. For the second quarter,\u00a0Okada Manila<\/a>\u00a0reported\u00a0gross gaming revenue (GGR) or PHP2.61bn (US$52.1m)<\/strong>. That\u2019s a fall of\u00a049 per cent\u00a0<\/strong>from the previous quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The company reported that\u00a0VIP table game GGR fell by 35.2 per cent\u00a0in the three months to June 30. Mass table game revenue declined by 38.9 per cent quarter-on-quarter to PHP526m.\u00a0Gaming machines revenues dropped by 69.6 per cent\u00a0to PH578m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Amusement Equipment business<\/strong> saw sales declined 71.4 per cent to JYP13.98bn with an operating loss of JYP2.31bn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As for pachinko and pachislot machine orders in Japan, <\/strong>the company said the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic had caused a fall in sales. The company had started a removal of outdated machines last November but it was pushed back to January 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Casinos in Entertainment City in\u00a0Metro Manila<\/a>\u00a0will remain closed until\u00a0August 20\u00a0<\/strong>amid an extension of the current\u00a0general community quarantine (GCQ)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
