Daisy Ho Chiu Fung, SJM Holdings’ chairman, has said the company expects Grand Lisboa Palace could reach break-even in a year’s time<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Macau.- After the grand opening of\u00a0Grand Lisboa Palace<\/a>\u00a0Phase I last week,\u00a0Daisy Ho Chiu Fung<\/strong>, SJM Holdings’ chairman, predicted that the venue could take 12 months to break even.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Chiu Fung said: \u201cI think for our property, looking at\u00a0breaking-even and stabilisation, will take\u2026 12 months or so<\/strong>, or less.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n However, everything will depend on\u00a0the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic<\/strong>, particularly in China. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The\u00a0HK$39bn (US$5bn) Grand Lisboa Palace<\/strong>\u00a0initially opened one of its towers with 300 rooms and approval for 150 gaming tables. The opening of the second phase will depend on the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic and related travel restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When complete, Grand Lisboa Palace will have around 2,000 hotel rooms<\/strong> split between three venues: The Lisboa Palace Hotel, Palazzo Versace Macau, and Karl Lagerfeld Hotel luxury boutique hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It will have\u00a027,000 square metres of gaming floor space\u00a0<\/strong>(290,000 sq ft) for up to\u00a0700 gaming tables and 1,200 electronic gaming machines<\/strong>. The venue will host an\u00a0art exhibition<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>from September 1 to October 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
