Officers seized 11 roosters and eight rooster carcasses. They also<strong>\u00a0found cash amounting to RM29,965 in bets<\/strong> and several items related to cockfights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those arrested are aged between 22 and 62 years and were under remand while police classified the case under the\u00a0<strong>Common Gaming Houses Act 1953<\/strong>\u00a0and Measures of Prevention and Cruelty to Animals Act 1952.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few weeks ago,\u00a0<strong>police in Sarawak arrested four men<\/strong>\u00a0who were suspected of being part in a syndicate<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>that was promoting\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/malaysia-4-arrested-for-online-gambling\">online gambling<\/a>\u00a0through social media applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the raid, police seized<strong>&nbsp;mobile phones, gambling equipment and four monitors<\/strong>. According to Malay Mail, those arrested were aged between 19 to 29 and<strong>&nbsp;earned between RM$1,500 and RM$1,800 a month<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The four men could face a fine of between RM$5,000 and RM50,000<\/strong>\u00a0as well as imprisonment for a maximum of three years upon conviction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another raid was made in Taman Senggi, Jalan Bau-Kuching, where police arrested four men and two women in relation to an alleged\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/malaysia-6-arrested-in-raid-on-gambling-call-centre\">illegal gambling call centre<\/a>.
