pneumonia outbreak<\/a><\/em><\/strong> hitting Wuhan, central China, has put the Macau gaming industry on high alert. To help limit the potential impact on the Macau gaming industry, the national gaming regulator has confirmed it will assist the city\u2019s casino operators in purchasing additional temperature detection equipment .<\/p>\n\n\n\nAlthough the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) asked casinos to install body temperature-screening equipment at their properties, they are not certain all properties have met the request so have decided to provide additional support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After meeting with operators to talk about measures to avoid the further spread of pneumonia, the DICJ announced on Tuesday that it would assist operators in purchasing necessary equipment in order to expedite the process of acquiring and installing body temperature-screening equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs casinos need to purchase a large amount of temperature detection equipment in a short period of time, the DICJ and the Health Bureau have assisted gaming companies to speed up the purchase and arrival of equipment,\u2019 DICJ said<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe DICJ attaches great importance to the safety of the casinos’ operating environment and will take effective measures to reduce the impact of infectious diseases on entertainment,\u201d it added.
