Royal International has posted a VND18.4bn loss for the first quarter of the year due to continued border restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Vietnam.-\u00a0Royal International<\/strong>, owner of the\u00a0Royal Ha Long Bay Casino<\/strong>\u00a0in Quang Ninh, has reported another quarter of losses as it continues to be impacted by Covid-19 measures<\/strong> and the lack of tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It’s reported a loss of VND18.4bn for the second quarter, an improvement on the VND21.08bn loss reported in the same quarter last year. Revenue came in at VND28bn, up 100 per cent<\/strong>\u00a0year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the beginning of 2021, Royal International forecast revenue of VND238.2bn (US$10.4m) and profit of VND11.6bn for the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In March,\u00a0casino operators<\/a>\u00a0asked the government to expand\u00a0Vietnamese citizens\u2019 access to casinos<\/strong>\u00a0in major tourist destinations such as\u00a0Quang Nam and Ba Ria-Vung Tau<\/strong>\u00a0to help casinos face the loss of revenue from tourists owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n However,\u00a0the government<\/a>\u00a0said the\u00a0current scheme<\/a>\u00a0won\u2019t be expanded to other casino operators.
