Andrew Yeom, the CCC\u2019s executive director, has revealed interest from potential bidders if IPI’s licence is permanently revoked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Northern Mariana Islands.- According to\u00a0Andrew Yeom<\/strong>, the Commonwealth Casino Commission’s executive director, several bidders have said they would be interested in Saipan if\u00a0Imperial Pacific International’s licence is revoked<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yeom was asked by Gaming Committee vice chair Rep. Christina E. Sablan<\/strong>\u00a0if the CCC had been contacted by potential bidders for a casino licence. According to the Saipan Tribune, Yeom said: “I cannot tell you who, how many. But yes.”\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said he couldn’t reveal more details as it was a sensitive issue<\/strong>\u00a0and IPI’s future hadn’t been decided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yeom said he expects IPI could resolve its issues<\/strong>\u00a0but that if that doesn’t happen, he will advance with the possibility of revoking IPI’s licence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yeom was then asked about\u00a0IPI’s building in Garapan<\/a>\u00a0and what would happen if IPI’s assets are liquidated. He said that would depend on whether IPI\u2019s casino licence is revoked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rep.\u00a0Vicente Camacho said nobody was sure what to do with the unfinished IPI building<\/strong>, but Yeom said a new investor would probably buy it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Commonwealth Casino Commission (CCC), IPI\u00a0has violated five orders\u00a0<\/strong>including a failure to pay\u00a0its US$3.1m annual regulatory fee\u00a0<\/strong>in 2020 and failure to\u00a0comply with an order to settle debts<\/strong>\u00a0with vendors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
