Bernstein has reported that\u00a0<strong>Macau GGR during the second week of July\u00a0<\/strong>was up 6 per cent when compared to the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-up-16-for-first-week-of-july\">previous week<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Analysts also reported\u00a0that GGR for the first 18 days of July was<strong> up 33 per cent compared to June<\/strong>, when Macau registered its\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-falls-37-in-june\">lowest GGR<\/a>\u00a0since November 2020, with a drop of 37 per cent month-on-month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Total <strong>GGR for the period was MOP5.2 bn (US$650m)<\/strong>\u00a0with an average daily rate of MOP288m. VIP revenue was up 28 per cent and mass revenue up 27 per cent month-on-month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Analysts predicted<strong>\u00a0that GGR in July will be down 60 per cent<\/strong>\u00a0from pre-pandemic levels but will improve during the summer holiday period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bernstein Research expects that a possible\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/hk-macau-travel-bubble-delayed-again-due-to-new-covid-19-case\">travel bubble between Macau and Hong Kong<\/a>\u00a0may still be three months away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For any relaxation of restrictions,\u00a0<strong>authorities in Macau expect Hong Kong to achieve a 70 per cent vaccination rate<\/strong>, which Bernstein doesn&#8217;t expect to happen until mid-October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of Sunday,\u00a0<strong>29.5 per cent of Hong Kong\u2019s population had received both doses of a Covid-19 vaccine<\/strong>, while 41.4 per cent had received one dose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>mainland China<\/strong>\u00a0will continue to be the only country to have a\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/covid-19-vaccine-passports-could-speed-up-macau-tourism-recovery\">largely quarantine-free travel bubble<\/a>\u00a0with Macau.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Macau\u2019s GGR in the second week of July was up 6 per cent when compared to the previous week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":18576,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Macau's Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) recorded a 6% week-on-week increase in the second week of July, with the first 18 days showing a 33% month-on-month rise to MOP5.2 billion.
