{"id":20196,"date":"2021-07-13T14:11:22","date_gmt":"2021-07-13T14:11:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=20196"},"modified":"2026-04-23T17:40:59","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T20:40:59","slug":"australasian-gaming-expo-will-take-place-in-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/australasian-gaming-expo-will-take-place-in-2022","title":{"rendered":"Australasian Gaming Expo will take place in 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Gaming Technologies Association has cancelled the upcoming Australasian Gaming Expo due to the current COVID-19 circumstances in Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Press release.- With the Department of Health managing the current COVID-19 outbreak in Australia as a health emergency and the NSW lockdown extended with no end date in sight, the&nbsp;<strong>Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE) organizers have made the unavoidable decision to postpone the event.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGiven the proximity to the AGE, border closures, and the unknown restrictions of the government\u2019s \u2018roadmap\u2019 out of lockdown, we needed to act now\u201d, said<strong>&nbsp;Chris Muir, CEO of the Gaming Technologies Association&nbsp;<\/strong>(GTA), who organizes the AGE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnd, we have not forgotten the heightened risk that this Delta variant poses for everyone at this time\u201d, Muir continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GTA and venue (ICC Sydney) looked at alternative dates for the AGE however, largely due to its size, it was not possible to confirm dates for AGE to run in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The 31st AGE will now run from 9 to 11 August 2022.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exhibitors are disappointed with the postponement.
