Macau\u2019s GGR was up 16 per cent when compared to the last week of June and up 29 per cent from June overall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- Sanford C. Bernstein has reported that Macau GGR for the first week of July <\/strong>was up 16 per cent when compared to the previous week<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macau\u2019s GGR was also up 29 per cent in comparison with June as a whole<\/strong>. In June, Macau registered its\u00a0lowest GGR<\/a>\u00a0since November 2020, with a drop of 37 per cent month-on-month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drop in June was partly due to\u00a0an outbreak of Covid-19 cases<\/a>\u00a0in the neighbouring province of Guangdong, which led Macau to tighten\u00a0Covid-19 countermeasures at casinos<\/a>\u00a0and other tourism venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to analysts,\u00a0Macau’s GGR in July will be up 50 per cent <\/strong>when compared to March. Authorities have ended restrictions for those coming from\u00a0Guangdong<\/a>\u00a0as Covid-19 cases decline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bernstein also predicts GGR will be up 144 per cent when compared to last year, reaching 50 per cent of 2019 levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under Covid-19 countermeasures<\/a>\u00a0at casinos and other tourism venues, visitors must wear masks and have their temperature checked<\/strong>. They also have to\u00a0present the Macao Health Code,\u00a0<\/strong>the government document that classifies health status by colour: red, yellow, and green.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holders whose Macao Health Code is red or yellow will be denied admission<\/strong>\u00a0to casinos and other venues. Other venues covered by the countermeasure include hotels and guest houses, restaurants, bars, karaoke lounges, nightclubs, saunas, massage parlours and health clubs.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
