Imperial Pacific vehicles and casino gaming machines will be seized and sold in order to comply with a $2.1m judgement by USA Fanter Corp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Northern Mariana Islands.-\u00a0Imperial Pacific International (IPI)\u00a0<\/strong>must sell its vehicles and gaming machines to comply with a $2.1m judgement in favour of construction firm\u00a0USA Fanter<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The US company sued\u00a0IPI due to its failure<\/strong>\u00a0to pay for work it completed at the operator’s Saipan resort.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona<\/strong>, said: “All vehicles and gaming machines shall be stored either in the underground parking lot of IPI\u2019s hotel-casino complex in Garapan, Saipan or in IPI\u2019s housing in Chinatown, Saipan.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, last week,\u00a0IPI<\/a>\u00a0reported that it had paid out on a settlement payment it was due to pay this month. There was some confusion because the casino operator made the payment a day late<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The payment forms part of a court order to pay $1.58m <\/strong>in liquidated damages and $200,000 in civil penalties. IPI must make six more payments of $164,270.08<\/strong> to the US Department of Labor before December 1. The next payment will be on July 16, according to IPI\u2019s lawyer Michael W. Dotts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April, IPI\u2019s gaming licence was suspended<\/a> indefinitely as the operator failed to comply with regulatory orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Commonwealth Casino Commission (CCC), IPI violated five orders <\/strong>including a failure to pay its US$3.1m annual regulatory fee <\/strong>in 2020 and failure to comply with an order to settle debts<\/strong> with vendors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
