Clairvest Neem Ventures\u2019 consortium has presented its IR plans to Wakayama Prefectural Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Japan.- Clairvest Neem Ventures\u2019 consortium <\/strong>has presented its integrated resort plans\u00a0to the Wakayama Prefectural Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In June, authorities accepted\u00a0Clairvest<\/a>\u00a0as its IR partner after\u00a0Suncity Group<\/a>, the only other contender, withdrew from the process due to uncertainty caused by the impact of the Covid-19\u00a0<\/strong>pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest presentation was attended by 40 out of 42 prefectural assembly members\u00a0<\/strong>and two project managers from Clairvest Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked why the company had chosen Wakayama<\/strong>, Clairvest responded: “If you just want to play in a casino, Osaka is good, but if you\u2019re thinking of an integrated resort, Wakayama has more potential.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In June,\u00a0Clairvest<\/a>\u00a0partnered with\u00a0Groupe Partouche SA<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0AMSE Resorts Japan Co to form a consortium for its bid.\u00a0<\/strong>Groupe Partouche SA is a french casino operator while AMSE is a company connected to\u00a0William Weidner<\/strong>, former president and CEO of Las Vegas Sands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeff Parr<\/strong>, vice chairman and managing director of Clairvest Group, said the consortium\u2019s proposed IR would\u00a0help Wakayama recover\u00a0<\/strong>after the Covid-19 pandemic. Parr praised the\u00a0expertise of both companies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Wakayama Prefectural Government hopes to\u00a0open an Integrated Resort by 2026<\/strong>. The area development plan to submit for national government approval must be formulated by April 28, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the prefecture\u2019s policy, the\u00a0IR development<\/a>\u00a0must create a symbolic landmark and be technologically advanced, including MICE facilities covering 50,000 square meters and\u00a0a casino comprising no more than 3 per cent of the entire area<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
