Singapore.- Police are investigating 13 people accused of illegal horseracing betting activities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n According to local media reports, police carried on two enforcement operations <\/strong>in which they seized two mobile phones, money and betting paraphernalia. Officers also say that those under investigation breached social distancing measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Anyone who bets with a bookmaker in Singapore can be fined up to $5,000 and\/or jailed for up to six months. Those who don’t comply with social distancing rules may be jailed for up to six months and\/or fined up to $10,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In June, police arrested 36 people in a series of raids targetting an\u00a0illegal gambling operation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n According to officers, those arrested were operating illegal gambling <\/strong>and an unlicensed moneylending syndicate.
