{"id":20049,"date":"2021-07-08T14:40:45","date_gmt":"2021-07-08T14:40:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=20049"},"modified":"2026-04-23T17:47:44","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T20:47:44","slug":"melco-to-launch-share-purchase-and-award-programme-for-employees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/melco-to-launch-share-purchase-and-award-programme-for-employees","title":{"rendered":"Melco to launch share purchase and award programme for employees"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Melco Resorts &amp; Entertainment has announced it will launch a share purchase plan for eligible employees who agreed to participate in the company\u2019s voluntary leave programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Macau.-\u00a0<strong>Melco Resorts &amp; Entertainment Limited<\/strong>\u00a0will launch a plan for those who entered the\u00a0<strong>company&#8217;s voluntary leave program\u00a0<\/strong>announced in 2020 amid the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Melco said the programme aims &#8220;to recognize the<strong>\u00a0dedication and commitment of its employees<\/strong>\u00a0and provide eligible employees the opportunity to benefit from the Company\u2019s long-term growth.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Share Purchase and Award Programme will allow<strong>\u00a0eligible employees to use a portion of their salaries\u00a0<\/strong>from July 2021 to June 2022, to purchase and receive a grant of restricted shares under the Melco Resorts 2011 Share Incentive Plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The plan will have an aggregate value equal to 200 per cent of the amount of base salary applied as of the grant date.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lawrence Ho<\/strong>, Chairman and CEO of Melco Resorts &amp; Entertainment Limited, said: &#8220;As the pandemic gradually subsides, we would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to all our colleagues and ensure they have the chance to<strong>\u00a0capitalize on the long-term growth of the Company<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company&#8217;s \u201c<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/melco-announces-voluntary-redundancy-programme\">New Chapter<\/a>\u201d voluntary exit programme offers Melco<strong>\u00a0employees up to 12 months base salary\u00a0<\/strong>with guaranteed tips to exit the company to seek other opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the voluntary exit programme,&nbsp;<strong>employees could also apply for a special leave arrangement on 40 per cent&nbsp;<\/strong>of monthly salary for between six and twelve months, with permission to work elsewhere.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of the special leave arrangement,&nbsp;<strong>employees would return to their role at Melco<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Melco Resorts raise dividend payout to help Melco International Development<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Morgan Stanley<\/strong> has reported that\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/melco-resorts-to-raise-dividends-on-behalf-of-melco-international\">Melco Resorts &amp; Entertainment<\/a>\u00a0could raise its dividend payout to help Melco International Development fund plans for a\u00a0<strong>non-gaming complex in Zhongshan<\/strong>\u00a0in China\u2019s Guangdong province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Analysts said&nbsp;<strong>Melco Resorts had an HKD$2.2bn (US$283m) cash outflow<\/strong>&nbsp;commitment to the non-gaming complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Zhongshan complex<strong>&nbsp;will benefit Melco Resorts<\/strong>&nbsp;with several longer-term impacts since it displays the company\u2019s commitment to developing non-gaming in the greater Macau area as Melco current gaming licence will&nbsp;<strong>expire in June 2022<\/strong>&nbsp;but could be extended for up to five years under the city\u2019s gaming laws.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Melco Resorts &amp; Entertainment has announced it will launch a share purchase plan for eligible employees who agreed to participate in the company\u2019s voluntary leave programme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":17574,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Melco Resorts & Entertainment is launching a Share Purchase and Award Programme for employees who participated in its voluntary leave program, aiming to recognize dedication and foster long-term growth.
