However, gaming tax revenue for the first half was down 9.8 per cent when compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In June, gaming tax revenue was up 23.4 per cent&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-gaming-tax-revenue-up-1-28-in-may\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">when compared to May<\/a>, from MOP3.25bn (US$406.5m) to MOP4bn and up 431 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-falls-37-in-june\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Macau\u2019s Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR)<\/a><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>fell in June after months of improvement, registering a decline of 37 per cent to&nbsp;<strong>MOP$6.54bn ($817.3m)<\/strong>, down from&nbsp;<strong>MOP10.45bn (US$1.31bn)<\/strong>&nbsp;in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The result was in line with expectations as&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-to-drop-30-in-june-analysts-say\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bernstein<\/a>&nbsp;had predicted&nbsp;<strong>GGR for June would be down<\/strong>&nbsp;30 per cent month-on-month.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Macau ceases restrictions for visitors from Guangdong<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A month and a half after imposing a 14-day quarantine on visitors from districts in&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ends-quarantine-requirements-for-visitors-from-guangdong\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Guangdong province<\/a>, Macau has relaxed the restrictions amid a fall in Covid-19 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, there is only one city in mainland China that remains on Macau\u2019s quarantine list: Ruili, in southwest China\u2019s Yunnan province bordering Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-to-resume-covid-19-countermeasures\">Covid-19 countermeasures<\/a>\u00a0at casinos and other tourism venues, visitors <strong>must wear masks and have their temperature checked<\/strong>.
