During the last week of July, the Hyderabad Race Club (HRC) will stream India’s off-season horseracing online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

India.-\u00a0Horseracing will finally go online<\/strong>\u00a0in India after a year and a half with no spectators at races.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement was made by the\u00a0Hyderabad Race Club<\/strong>. The monsoon races will be streamed starting in the last week of July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some sectors are unhappy with the decision, arguing that horseracing is no fun without spectators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to New Indian Express,\u00a0Avinash Jain<\/strong>, an Indian jockey, said: \u201cInitially I felt it would be nice with\u00a0less crowd considering the pandemic<\/strong>. But over time, I realised that the magic is missing. I don\u2019t feel like racing when there is no yelling from the spectators.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Before the pandemic, the stadium would be full of spectators<\/strong>, but now it\u2019s just us racers and the sounds of galloping horses.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for betting on horseracing,\u00a0Racecourse Media Group and Sports Information Services\u00a0<\/strong>have launched a daily betting service that would open mutual betting on British and Irish racing in local pools via the Hyderabad Race Club\u2019s digital platforms.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last November,\u00a0the Mysore Race Course (MRC)<\/a>\u00a0in Karnataka state launched an online platform for betting on horseracing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clubs in Mysore (Mysuru), Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata have obtained permission for online betting, but MRC was the first to implement a platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
