The Australian media authority ACMA has urged internet service providers to block offshore gambling websites operated by Kings Chance Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Australia.- The\u00a0Australian Communications and Media Authority<\/strong>\u00a0(ACMA) has urged the Australian internet service providers (ISPs) to block more offshore gambling websites.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACMA’s latest request relates to\u00a0offshore gambling websites operated by Kings Chance Service<\/strong>. According to the regulator, the sites are violating the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since November 2019, ACMA has blocked 272 websites while over 130 illegal services have been pulled out<\/strong> of the Australian market since authorities enforced new illegal offshore gambling rules in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April,\u00a0the regulator<\/a>\u00a0blocked\u00a0four unlicensed gambling sites<\/strong>: Always Vegas, Gibson Casino, Malibu Club, and Viggoslots Casino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A week ago, the\u00a0ACMA<\/a>\u00a0announced it had engaged Engine Australia to develop a National Self-Exclusion Register to help people who are dealing with gambling addiction problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Players will be able to exclude from licensed online and telephone betting services\u00a0<\/strong>for three months or permanently. According to ACMA,\u00a0providers will be prohibited from directly advertising<\/strong>\u00a0and promoting to any self-excluded person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACMA chair Nerida O\u2019Loughlin<\/strong> said: \u201cThe register will make a difference for people who want help changing their gambling habits and will complement existing consumer protection measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
