Macau.- Some 51 hotels have expressed an interest in Macau’s plans to allow\u00a0quarantine-free inbound travel<\/a> from Hong Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative proposes that people who arrive from Hong Kong\u00a0could be allowed to enter casino resorts and hotels<\/strong>\u00a0but would have to comply with stricter rules limiting their movements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors wouldn’t have access to bars, nightclubs or swimming pools<\/strong>. Authorities haven’t given details regarding eating arrangements at public places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macau health official\u00a0Tai Wa Hou\u00a0<\/strong>said the initiative would probably be launched once Hong Kong passes 14 days of zero Covid-19 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although there is no exact date for when the initiative could start, local media believe\u00a0it could begin by July 11<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors will also have to\u00a0present the Macao Health Code,\u00a0<\/strong>the government document that classifies health status by colour: red, yellow, and green, which could add a blue colour for those arriving from Hong Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tai Wa Hou added that the\u00a0quarantine-free bubble for visitors from Hong Kong\u00a0<\/strong>would only be for those that had been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 at least 14 days before travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
