{"id":19732,"date":"2021-07-01T13:40:27","date_gmt":"2021-07-01T13:40:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=19732"},"modified":"2026-04-23T18:02:31","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T21:02:31","slug":"midan-city-resort-development-wont-open-before-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/midan-city-resort-development-wont-open-before-2025","title":{"rendered":"Midan City resort development won&#8217;t open before 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new owners of the Korean IR development dropped by Caesars will resume construction but don&#8217;t expect to open the complex before 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">South Korea.- After the US-based\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/caesars-reported-to-have-dropped-south-korean-ir-project\">Caesars Entertainment<\/a>\u00a0dropped out of plans to\u00a0<strong>develop an integrated resort in South Korea<\/strong>\u00a0the project has been in a kind of limbo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project was originally due to be completed this year, but in March the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/midan-city-resort-development-to-resume\">South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism<\/a>\u00a0granted\u00a0<strong>a twelve-month extension to the previous construction deadline<\/strong>. That would mean an opening date in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However,<strong> R&amp;F Properties<\/strong>, now the sole shareholder of the resort, has said that it will resume work but that, with only 25 per cent of the complex finished, it won&#8217;t be complete until 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the meantime, R&amp;F Properties could<strong>&nbsp;seek a partner to manage the casino operation<\/strong>&nbsp;side of the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The current project is now known as Midan City Resort Complex and will include a luxury hotel offering 720 rooms, suites and villas, a foreigners-only casino, a fitness centre and an indoor-outdoor pool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">R&amp;F Properties said: \u201cThe resumption of the construction of the<strong>\u00a0casino complex has not been carried out yet<\/strong>, and there is no set schedule for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;There is nothing to disclose about the procurement of construction costs and the search for new partners.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The new owners of the Korean IR development dropped by Caesars will resume construction but don&#8217;t expect to open the complex before 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"The Midan City Resort Complex in South Korea, previously stalled after Caesars Entertainment's withdrawal, will resume construction under sole shareholder R&F Properties.
