Residents must\u00a0<strong>stay at home except for essential reasons<\/strong> and must wear face masks outside of their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A similar decision was taken in Sydney, where&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/the-star-sydney-closes-until-july-2-amid-rise-in-covid-19-cases\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Star<\/a>&nbsp;will remain closed until at least July 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Sydney, lockdown rules will remain until July 9 in some areas. People can only leave their homes for essential purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Star Sydney will continue to&nbsp;<strong>pay staff during the seven-day closure<\/strong>. The company said it will remain committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of its team members and guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week, local media reported that&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/authorities-to-check-if-sydney-venues-are-complying-with-covid-rules\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">authorities will check hospitality venues<\/a>&nbsp;in Sydney are complying with Covid-19 rules.&nbsp;<strong>Liquor and Gaming NSW<\/strong>&nbsp;will be in charge of inspections with around 40 inspectors dedicated to the task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elsewhere, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/crown-melbourne-closure-extended-until-june-10\">Crown Melbourne<\/a>\u00a0was allowed to reopen its hotel and food and beverage facilities on June 11 after a two-week lockdown but\u00a0<strong>the Victorian Government has not granted the casino permission\u00a0<\/strong>to resume its gaming activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crown said it would\u00a0<strong>continue to financially support staff\u00a0<\/strong>who remain stood down, including the majority of gaming operational staff, by paying an additional discretionary payment.
