{"id":19424,"date":"2021-06-25T10:02:43","date_gmt":"2021-06-25T10:02:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=19424"},"modified":"2026-04-23T18:12:52","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T21:12:52","slug":"authorities-to-check-if-sydney-venues-are-complying-with-covid-rules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/authorities-to-check-if-sydney-venues-are-complying-with-covid-rules","title":{"rendered":"Authorities to check if Sydney venues are complying with Covid rules"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>After a rise in Covid-19 cases in NSW, authorities will check hospitality venues in Sydney are complying with Covid-19 rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Australia.- The state of New South Wales is dealing with<strong>&nbsp;a new rise of Covid-19 cases in Sydney<\/strong>&nbsp;and is stepping up controls on hospitality venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Liquor and Gaming NSW<\/strong>&nbsp;will be in charge of inspections with around 40 inspectors dedicated to the task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Darren Duke<\/strong>, acting director of compliance at Liquor &amp; Gaming NSW, said: &#8220;Venues not complying with the Public Health Orders pose a clear and significant risk to public health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Any venues found breaching the rules may be subject to a fine or in&nbsp;<strong>serious cases could face a closure of their venue.<\/strong>\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to current rules, the&nbsp;<strong>wearing of masks is mandatory indoors&nbsp;<\/strong>and there must be social distancing of one person per four square metres.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the state of Victoria, authorities recently relaxed&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/australia-victoria-eases-covid-19-restrictions\">Covid-19 restrictions<\/a><strong>,&nbsp;<\/strong>allowing casinos and gaming venues in Melbourne to admit<strong>&nbsp;up to 300 people per indoor space<\/strong>, with a density limit of one person per 4 square metres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The use of<strong>&nbsp;masks will continue to be mandatory indoors<\/strong>. The measure is expected to be in place for at least another two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under new rules, indoor fixed-seating entertainment can open to up to 75 per cent of seated capacity, with a capacity of 300 people per space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Victoria has reported 50 active local Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/crown-melbourne-gaming-facilities-to-remain-closed\">Crown Melbourne<\/a>&nbsp;has announced that in line with the Victorian government\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>easing of Covid-19 restrictions<\/strong>, it will allow the return of guests to restaurants and bars, pool and gym facilities and retail stores.
