Prefectural Citizens Network<\/strong>\u00a0collected<strong>\u00a010,416 signatures\u00a0<\/strong>from those who oppose an integrated resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/nagasaki-moves-into-second-round-of-ir-tender\">Nagasaki\u2019s prefectural government<\/a>\u00a0has advanced into the second stage of its process to choose a partner for its bid for one of\u00a0<strong>Japan\u2019s planned three IR licences<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Oshidori International Holdings<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Casinos Austria International<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Niki Chau Fwu Group&nbsp;<\/strong>have entered the second stage, in which each company will have to show its business strategies and plans to tackle gambling addiction issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The prefecture will make a submission by 2022 in its bid for permission to develop an Integrated Resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>successful&nbsp;<\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/nagasaki-ir-partner-to-cover-us1-5m-in-rfp-costs\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IR partner will have to pay JPY158m (US$1.5m)<\/a>&nbsp;for the Request for proposal process and JPY10m (US$92,000) for a background check.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although there are groups against the IR project, they are weaker than in Yokohama, where many candidates for the upcoming Mayoral election are opposed to its IR bid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) may not support Yokohama\u2019s current\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/yokohama-unexpected-anti-ir-mayoral-candidate-could-emerge\">pro-IR mayor<\/a>\u00a0<strong>Fumiko Hayashi\u00a0<\/strong>for a fourth term.
