Macau.- While Macau authorities consider easing restrictions for visitors <\/strong>as Covid-19 cases continue to decline in Guangdong, casino operators are looking ahead to the summer season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Linda Chen<\/strong>, executive director of casino operator Wynn Macau Ltd, has said she believes the Covid-19 situation in the neighbouring province of Guangdong\u00a0<\/strong>and in Hong Kong will gradually improve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alvis Lo lek Long<\/strong>, Macau Health Bureau director, has said that a travel bubble<\/a> between Hong Kong and Macau could be contemplated once Hong Kong passes 28 days without a local Covid-19 case<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once travel between Hong Kong and Macau<\/strong> is finally allowed, it is expected Macau will only allow vaccinated people to enter the city, showing a negative Covid-19 test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Linda Chen said Macau authorities have been working hard to promote inbound tourism<\/strong> with different initiatives to be launched from July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She predicted the visitor rate and hotel occupancy in summer will be similar to levels reached during the\u00a0Labour Day break<\/a>, when Macau\u2019s Public Security Police have reported that 165,500 tourists came to the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
