Between June 18 and 21, Melco Resorts & Entertainment vaccinated 2,400 staff members and family as part of its immunity incentive programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.-\u00a0Some 2,400 staff and family members were vaccinated at Melco Resorts & Entertainment<\/a>\u00a0Covid-19 vaccination event between June 18 and 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative was run by the company together with Macau authorities to\u00a0encourage people to get vaccinated<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Akiko Takahashi, Melco\u2019s executive vice president and chief of staff stated: “With colleague immunity now established as a key Company objective to\u00a0ensure a safe environment for colleagues, guests and the community<\/strong>, we are thrilled to see colleagues\u2019 positive response to the\u00a0Get the Jab<\/em>\u00a0campaign’.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the \u201cimmunity incentive programme,\u201d <\/strong>the company gave each employee a bonus of MOP1,000 (US$125) <\/strong>after getting the vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to\u00a0increase the vaccination rate<\/a>\u00a0in Macau, casino operators MGM China and Sands China have also hosted vaccination services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macau\u2019s government has reimposed\u00a0Covid-19 countermeasures<\/a>\u00a0at casinos and other tourism venues due to a rise in Covid-19 cases in the neighbouring province of Guangdong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People who enter the casinos\u00a0must wear masks and have their temperature checked<\/strong>. They will also have to\u00a0present the Macao Health Code,\u00a0<\/strong>the government document that classifies health status by colour: red, yellow, and green.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Macao News, Leong Iek Hou<\/strong>, Health Bureau\u2019s disease control coordinator, said the government would constantly assess the Covid-19 risk to Macau from Guangdong before deciding whether to relax its current Covid-19 restrictions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leong Iek Hou also referred to the possibility of relaxation with Hong Kong <\/strong>and said it would be gradually implemented with limits on the numbers of travellers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
