{"id":19208,"date":"2021-06-18T14:55:05","date_gmt":"2021-06-18T14:55:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=19208"},"modified":"2026-04-23T18:24:55","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T21:24:55","slug":"century-entertainment-expects-to-post-full-year-losses-of-hk40m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/century-entertainment-expects-to-post-full-year-losses-of-hk40m","title":{"rendered":"Century Entertainment expects to post full-year losses of HK$40m"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The company has published a profit warning forecasting losses of HK$40m for the year ending March 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Hong Kong.-\u00a0<strong>Century Entertainment International Holdings\u00a0<\/strong>has reported that it expects to record a\u00a0<strong>loss of not less than HK$40m\u00a0<\/strong>subject to further adjustment on impairment for the year ended March 31, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company reported a loss of approximately HK$39.2m for the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company said losses were mainly due to the\u00a0<strong>amortisation on the intangible assets<\/strong>\u00a0concerning its gaming table business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the fiscal year 2021, the company took an impairment charge of HK$13.6m due to the amortisation of assets related to its VIP gaming business in Cambodia.\u00a0The group noted<strong>\u00a0that it has yet to finalise its 2021 results.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last November,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/century-reduces-losses-despite-closure-of-casinos\">Century Entertainment<\/a>\u00a0reported a loss of HK$6.2m for the six months to September 30,\u00a0<strong>a reduction compared to losses of HK$13.5m<\/strong>\u00a0reported in the same period in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the time, Century Entertainment said the loss for the period: \u201cwas mainly due to the decrease in revenue and the amortization of intangible assets.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February, Century signed a revised right agreement at a new\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/century-signs-table-gaming-deal-at-new-cambodian-casino\">casino in Dara Sakor<\/a>, Cambodia,\u00a0<strong>to operate four gaming tables<\/strong>, mainly operating baccarat.
