{"id":19113,"date":"2021-06-17T15:00:11","date_gmt":"2021-06-17T15:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=19113"},"modified":"2026-04-23T18:28:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T21:28:13","slug":"paradise-city-to-reopen-non-gaming-facilities-from-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/paradise-city-to-reopen-non-gaming-facilities-from-july","title":{"rendered":"Paradise City to reopen non-gaming facilities from July"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>After a year of closure, Paradise City in Incheon, South Korea, will reopen its non-gaming attractions from July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>South Korea.-&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/casinos-in-south-korea-extend-covid-19-closures-2\">Paradise City<\/a>&nbsp;casino resort is<strong>&nbsp;to resume non-gaming attractions in July after a year of closure.<\/strong> It will reopen its spa and the indoor theme park &#8220;Wonderbox.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company said: &#8220;<strong>We will do our best to ensure safety&nbsp;<\/strong>and quarantine so that you can enjoy fun in Paradise City in the coming summer with confidence.&nbsp;The re-opening of<strong>&nbsp;Wonderbox will be a signal to target domestic travel&nbsp;<\/strong>demand in earnest.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The casino operator has been struggling with a&nbsp;<strong>lack of tourists and a drop in visits<\/strong>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/south-korean-casinos-visits-down-71-3-in-2020\">casino venues<\/a>&nbsp;due to the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/paradise-co-posts-losses-of-us16-2m-for-q1\">Paradise Co<\/a>&nbsp;post losses of KRW18.2bn (US$16.2m) for the first quarter of the year. <strong>Casino sales<\/strong>&nbsp;for the first quarter reached <strong>KRW30.2bn<\/strong>, down 60.2 per cent when compared to 2020 but up 51.4 per cent sequentially.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EBITDA was KRW12.9bn, up 76.3 per cent when compared to the previous quarter (KRW7.3m) but down 59 per cent year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>South Korea negotiates travel bubbles<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The South Korean government<\/strong>&nbsp;is in talks with Singaporean and Taiwanese authorities about a potential<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/south-korea-in-talks-on-travel-bubble-with-singapore-and-taiwan\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">travel bubble from July<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the South Korean Transport Ministry,\u00a0<strong>the travel bubble will be open only to those who have been fully vaccinated<\/strong>\u00a0against Covid-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Initially,\u00a0travellers will be required to show negative Covid-19 test results\u00a0three days before departure and test again upon arrival at their destination.
