The Philippines.- Metro Manila will remain under the less restrictive general community quarantine (GCQ) until <\/strong>June 30, with some restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Philippines\u2019 president announced that 12 provinces and nine cities will be under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) <\/strong>and the rest of the country under the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Metro Manila<\/a> has shortened its curfew <\/strong>to run from midnight to 4am. The shorter curfew will allow people more time<\/strong> to visit malls, travel and eat outside. The measure was taken to help the economy, which has been severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n GCQ allows only essential travel<\/strong> in and out of Metro Manila. Public transportation will operate at reduced capacity. Casinos<\/a> were allowed to resume operating <\/strong>at a reduced capacity in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In May, <\/strong>the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR)<\/strong> remitted Php1.35bn (US$28.3m) to the National Treasury<\/a> bringing the total remitted this year to Php3bn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n PAGOR<\/a>\u2018s revenue for 2020 was US$624m, down 60.4 per cent<\/strong> year-on-year and the lowest for at least seven years.
