Three people have been arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Japan.- Police <strong>found 56 illegal pachinko machines<\/strong> in a raid on <strong>a pachinko parlour<\/strong> in Yokohama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to local media,<strong>\u00a0three employees were arrested<\/strong> and <strong>police seized 4.5m yen in cash<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were <strong>nine customers present at the time of the raid at the pachinko parlour<\/strong>, which had a double door to let people enter the venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, the number of\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/japan-sees-7-drop-in-number-of-pachinko-halls\">active pachinko halls in Japan fell by 584 to 8,302<\/a>, a 7 per cent decrease year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The industry continues to suffer the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. In March more than 100\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/japan-the-number-of-pachinko-parlours-continues-to-fall\">pachinko parlours closed their doors<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Mayo,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/okura-holdings-permanently-closes-two-pachinko-venues\">Okura Holdings<\/a>\u00a0announced the<strong>\u00a0permanent closure<\/strong>\u00a0of two of its\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/japan-the-number-of-pachinko-parlours-continues-to-fall\">pachinko venues<\/a>\u00a0due to the crisis in the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the<strong>\u00a0pachinko venues<\/strong>\u00a0was located in Ogi City, Saga Prefecture, while the other was in Kawasaki city, Kanagawa Prefecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The operator said the decision was due to \u201c<strong>deteriorating operating and financial performance since the outbreak of the Covid-19<\/strong>&nbsp;in Japan in January 2020 and the resulting significant decline in overall customer traffic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Okura Holdings now has 15 Pachinko Venues, most of them located in Nagasaki Prefecture.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police found a parlour in Yokohama had 56 illegal pachinko machines.
