Three new non-executive directors have received regulatory approval to join SkyCity’s board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

New Zealand.-\u00a0SkyCity Entertainment Group\u00a0<\/strong>has announced\u00a0that Silvana Schenone, Julian Cook and Chad Barton\u00a0<\/strong>have joined its board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silvana Schenone<\/strong>\u00a0served previously as a board member of the New Zealand Takeovers Panel.\u00a0She is recognised for her commercial acumen and negotiation skills<\/strong>\u00a0and as a thought leader on corporate governance issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Julian Cook<\/strong>\u00a0was the former CEO of\u00a0Summerset Group Holdings Limited<\/strong>. Before that, he was CFO of the company. He holds a Masters in Finance from Victoria University and a Masters of Science from the University of Waikato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before joining SkyCity, Cook was a member of the Executive Committee for the New Zealand Retirement Villages Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chad Barton<\/strong> was CFO of The Star Entertainment Group Limited from 2014 to 2019. Before that, he was\u00a0chief financial officer of Australia and New Zealand business of Electronic Data Systems<\/strong>\u00a0from 2006 to 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barton is also known for having\u00a0established Women in Gaming & Hospitality Australasia<\/strong>, which pushes for gender equity and the development and success of women in the gaming industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SkyCity<\/a>\u00a0is among the casino operators currently being investigated by the national financial crimes watchdog\u00a0AUSTRAC\u00a0<\/strong>due to potential non-compliance with AML rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SkyCity<\/strong>\u00a0confirmed that AUSTRAC is\u00a0investigating a compliance assessment<\/strong>\u00a0on how the company managed high-risk and politically exposed customers between July 2015 and June 2016 and between July 2018 and June 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
