Lotte Tour Development has announced it is ready to open its Jeju Dream Tower on June 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

South Korea.- The\u00a0Jeju Dream Tower casino<\/a>\u00a0has passed a\u00a0final inspection and will open its doors on Friday, June 11.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April, Lotte Tour Development received\u00a0transfer permission<\/a>\u00a0for the\u00a0<\/strong>relocation of\u00a0the Jeju casino<\/strong>\u00a0to the US$1.4bn new venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeju Dream Tower casino<\/a> was expected to open in May, but it was delayed due to new restrictions imposed by the government <\/strong>after a rise in Covid-19 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The casino will have 150 tables<\/strong> offering five types of table game, 90 slot machines, and 70 electronic gaming machines. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to local media, Lawrence Teo<\/strong>, chief operating officer (COO) of Jeju Dream Tower, said: \u201cThe domestic casino market is generating 30 to 40bn won in sales per month<\/strong>, mainly foreigners living in Korea, even when the [entry] of overseas tourists is restricted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are receiving inquiries from prospective customers who want to enjoy a new level of casino experience in Jeju.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2020,\u00a0casinos on Jeju island<\/a>\u00a0together saw\u00a0sales decline by 63.6 per cent year-on-year<\/strong>\u00a0in 2020 to\u00a0KRW69.30bn (US$61.5m)<\/strong>. That compares to sales of KRW190.0bn (US$168.7m)<\/strong> in 2019, before the global Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only four Jeju casinos out of a total of 16 foreigner-only venues remained operational through most of 2020<\/strong>: Paradise Co\u2019s Paradise Casino Jeju Grand, Landing Casino at Jeju Shinhwa World, Casino Lotte Tour at Lotte Hotel Jeju and Gongzi Jeju.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
