(PAGCOR)\u00a0<\/strong>has issued a warning about a group that has been using the regulator&#8217;s name for a fake tender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to PAGCOR, <strong>fraudsters have been inviting business owners to enter a bid<\/strong>\u00a0to supply pastries and bottled water to PAGCOR, including its Casino Filipino branches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The regulator said in a statement: &#8220;These<strong>\u00a0fraudsters used fake documents and forged the signatures of some PAGCOR officials<\/strong>\u00a0to ask for hefty fees, which will allegedly help the suppliers secure a contract with PAGCOR.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PAGCOR\u00a0<\/strong>warned local business owners not to fall prey to these fraudulent activities and<strong>\u00a0suggested verifying the legitimacy of any PAGCOR-related <\/strong>communications with the regulator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/pagcor-remits-us28-3m-to-philippines-national-treasury\">PAGCOR<\/a>\u00a0recently remitted US$28.3m to the Philippines National Treasury to help the government fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PAGOR\u2018s revenue for 2020 was<strong>\u00a0US$624m, down 60.4 per cent<\/strong>\u00a0year-on-year and the lowest for at least seven years. The<strong>\u00a0Covid-19 pandemic deeply affected casino revenues<\/strong>\u00a0due to\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/metro-manila-casinos-to-remain-closed-until-at-least-may-14\">several lockdowns<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PAGCOR Chairman and CEO\u00a0<strong>Andrea Domingo<\/strong>\u00a0said: \u201cAfter more than a year into the pandemic,\u00a0<strong>PAGCOR is still doing its best<\/strong>\u00a0to fulfil our mandate and commitment to nation-building.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe may be in a very challenging time, but we are all in this together.
