{"id":18622,"date":"2021-06-03T15:44:25","date_gmt":"2021-06-03T15:44:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=18622"},"modified":"2026-04-23T18:54:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T21:54:28","slug":"pansy-ho-sold-more-mgm-china-shares-in-may","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/pansy-ho-sold-more-mgm-china-shares-in-may","title":{"rendered":"Pansy Ho sold more MGM China shares in May"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Pansy Ho Chiu King sold US$86.05m worth of shares in MGM China\u2019s parent company, MGM Resorts International, reducing her stake to 0.96 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Macau.- <strong>Pansy Ho Chiu King<\/strong>, co-chairperson and an executive director of Macau casino operator MGM China Holdings Ltd has further reduced her position in MGM Resorts after\u00a0<strong>selling an aggregate of 2,016,788 shares in the US firm.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to data filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the average\u00a0<strong>price per share of MGM Resorts was US$42.51, US$42.81 and US$43.65\u00a0<\/strong>on May 26, May 27 and May 28 respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the sale,\u00a0<strong>Ho Chiu King&#8217;s 1.36 per cent long position in MGM Resorts has been reduced to 0.96 per cent<\/strong>\u00a0while she grossed approximately US$86.05m from the transaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/mgm-stakes-pansy-ho\">Ho Chiu King<\/a>\u00a0had previously\u00a0sold US$140.2m worth of shares in December, reducing her stake from 3.13 per cent to 2.26 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ho continues to hold a 22.49 per cent stake in\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/pansy-hos-pr-firm-signs-agreement-with-mgm-china\">MGM China<\/a>. In January, she<strong>\u00a0signed an agreement through Occasions Asia Pacific\u00a0<\/strong>to provide PR and marketing services to MGM Grand Paradise, a subsidiary of MGM China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Occasions has collaborated with the MGM Group<\/strong>. Under a previous agreement that ran through most of 2020, it provided MGM China with project management, client servicing brand consultancy and marketing, public and media relation and social media services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ho acquired<strong>&nbsp;50 per cent of Occasions<\/strong>&nbsp;last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>MGM China expects summer holiday period to boost revenue in Macau<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>MGM China\u00a0is looking forward to the<strong>\u00a0summer holiday period\u00a0<\/strong>after a good<strong>\u00a0Labour Day break performance<\/strong>, with the group\u2019s hotel occupancy back to pre-pandemic levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kenneth Xiaofeng<\/strong>, MGM president and chief financial officer, said: \u201cWe have high expectations for a<strong>\u00a0strong Summer holiday period as shown by the past holiday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMacau remains the&nbsp;<strong>safest and most convenient destination market&nbsp;<\/strong>outside mainland China.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MGM China&nbsp;<\/strong>said it was confident&nbsp;<strong>results would continue to improve<\/strong>&nbsp;after gross gaming revenue (GGR) for the first quarter of the year&nbsp;<strong>recovered to nearly 40 per cent of pre-pandemic levels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the first quarter of the year, MGM China reported an&nbsp;<strong>8.8 per cent rise&nbsp;<\/strong>in revenue year-on-year, although revenue was down 2.6 per cent compared to the previous quarter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pansy Ho Chiu King sold US$86.05m worth of shares in MGM China\u2019s parent company, MGM Resorts International, reducing her stake to 0.96 per cent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":18633,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Pansy Ho Chiu King has divested a further US$86.05m in MGM Resorts International shares, reducing her stake to 0.96%.
