The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has reported that Grand Lisboa Palace is in the final stages of licensing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.-\u00a0Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO)\u00a0<\/strong>director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes has confirmed\u00a0that SJM Holdings Ltd<\/strong>\u00a0is close to opening its new\u00a0venue, Grand Lisboa Palace<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fernandes said\u00a0inspections are complete\u00a0<\/strong>and that although there were things SJM Holdings needed to adapt, she believes most of them have been resolved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said there was no exact date for the Grand Lisboa Palace opening\u00a0<\/strong>because it also depends on the Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT), which needs to carry out some final work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Macau Business,\u00a0SJM Holdings wants to open Grand Lisboa Palace before the end of June<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grand Lisboa Palace is expected to open just one of its three hotels initially<\/strong>, with limited retail options. It will also open only\u00a0304 gaming tables<\/strong>\u00a0and 1,034 slot games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Macau\u2019s current rules<\/strong>, casinos are limited to 3 per cent of the compound annual growth in the number of new live gaming tables in the overall market, up to December 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0Grand Lisboa Palace\u00a0<\/strong>involved an investment of HKD39bn (US$5bn). When complete,\u00a0it will have around 2,000 hotel rooms<\/strong>\u00a0split between three venues: The Lisboa Palace Hotel, Palazzo Versace Macau, and Karl Lagerfeld Hotel luxury boutique hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The venue includes 27,000 square metres of gaming floor space <\/strong>(290,000 sq ft) for up to 700 gaming tables and 1,200 electronic gaming machines<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
