Marina Bay Sands has tested 7,450 employees for Covid-19 following its snap closure after two workers tested positive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Singapore.- The casino resort Marina Bay Sands (MBS) has announced that it tested 7,450 team members and 800 contractors<\/strong> for Covid-19 between May 21 and May 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company<\/a> took the decision after two casino dealers tested positive for Covid-19<\/strong>: a 36-year-old man from Malaysia and a 35-year-old man from Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company reopened its doors 24 hours later after carrying out deep cleaning. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marina Bay Sands stated: “This was done in addition to our enhanced polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing regime <\/strong>for all team members working on the property.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The casino operator continues to operate with revised capacities and stricter safety measures<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marina Bay Sands has asked all visitors to use the TraceTogether app<\/strong>, a digital system implemented by Singapore\u2019s government to facilitate the identification of people <\/strong>who may have come into close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guests were also reminded to wear masks at all times<\/strong>, to maintain the one-metre distancing rule and to avoid congregating in groups of more than two persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marina Bay Sands will also have so-called Safe Distancing Ambassadors<\/strong> roaming around the property to remind guests of the measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singapore will be under its Phase-2 of restrictions until at least June 13<\/strong>. The Ministry of Health reported 25 new cases in the last 24 hours<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the planned travel bubble<\/a> with Hong Kong, Singapore\u2019s Ministry of Transport <\/strong>has confirmed that it has been put back until at least June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In April, the Ministry of Transport <\/strong>announced the air travel bubble was to begin on May 26. However, last week Singapore registered new cases of Covid-19<\/strong>, leading to the plans to be put back.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
