Police seized&nbsp;<strong>cash, four motorcycles and gambling articles<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A similar case occurred in the city of Guargon, where<strong>&nbsp;five people were busted for illegal gambling<\/strong>. Among those arrested was&nbsp;<strong>a protocol adviser to a European country\u2019s embassy in Delhi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officers raided a house,&nbsp;where the <strong>five men were playing cards and gambling with chips<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police found<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>300 gambling chips, including 29 of Rs 5,000 value, 30 of Rs 1,000 value, 30 of Rs 500 value and 85 chips of Rs 100 value, as well as 60 packs of cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to police,<strong>&nbsp;the owner of the house and the casino had no licence to operate the venue<\/strong>. People were also again violating Covid-19 restrictions and were not wearing masks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In April,&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/india-4-more-arrests-over-cricket-betting-operation-in-pune\">Police in Pimpri-Chinchwad<\/a>, Pune, arrested four people&nbsp;<strong>for alleged betting on cricket&nbsp;<\/strong>during the last India-England cricket match.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Krishna Prakash, commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad police,<strong>&nbsp;those arrested were found in various locations due to Covid-19 rules&nbsp;<\/strong>as they could not enter as spectators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said they were \u201c<strong>generally people from the middle and upper-middle class<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police said&nbsp;<strong>12 betting apps<\/strong>&nbsp;had been used to place bets on the test match. They say they are searching for 24 more people thought to be involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another three people were arrested in Guntur on charges of organising&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/india-3-people-busted-over-illegal-cricket-betting-in-guntur\">illegal betting<\/a> on the Indian Premier League cricket match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police also found notebooks, six mobile phones and two four-wheeler vehicles. According to local media,&nbsp;<strong>one of the suspects works in a real estate business<\/strong>, while the other is an auditor at a local firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Restrictions in India continue due to rise in Covid-19 cases<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/india-goa-restrictions-continue-until-may-31\">state of Goa<\/a>&nbsp;<strong>extended the state\u2019s current Covid-19 countermeasures until May 31<\/strong>. Only essential services are allowed.
