{"id":18306,"date":"2021-05-26T16:01:12","date_gmt":"2021-05-26T16:01:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=18306"},"modified":"2026-04-23T19:11:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T22:11:08","slug":"vietnams-gdp-to-continue-positive-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/vietnams-gdp-to-continue-positive-growth","title":{"rendered":"Vietnam\u2019s GDP to continue positive growth"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>According to Fitch Ratings, Vietnam\u2019s economy is expected to continue to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Vietnam.- Fitch Ratings has forecast that <strong>Vietnam&#8217;s GDP could continue to grow in 2021\u00a0<\/strong>despite ongoing Covid-19 countermeasures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the Asian countries,\u00a0<strong>Vietnam&#8217;s economy was one of the few which could maintain positive growth<\/strong>\u00a0in 2020 despite the pandemic&#8217;s impact on domestic economic activity and tourism inflow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Analysts have now revised their outlook from &#8220;stable&#8221; to &#8220;positive&#8221; due to the country&#8217;s success in\u00a0<strong>bringing the Covid-19 outbreak under control<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fitch Ratings forecasts<strong>\u00a0Vietnam GDP will grow about 7 per cent in 2021 and 2022<\/strong>\u00a0in line with the normalisation of domestic economic activity despite a slow vaccination programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for the gambling sector, in March\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/vietnam-casinos-ask-government-to-let-locals-gamble\">casino operators<\/a>\u00a0asked the government to expand\u00a0<strong>Vietnamese citizens\u2019 access to casinos<\/strong>\u00a0in major tourism destinations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The request aimed to\u00a0<strong>help casinos face the loss of revenue<\/strong>\u00a0from tourists owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
