It will give\u00a0<strong>each employee a bonus of MOP1,000 (US$125)\u00a0<\/strong>after getting the vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those who get the vaccine could also<strong>\u00a0win MOP1m once the company has reached certain immunity targets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Melco Resorts is working in coordination with the\u00a0<strong>Macau Health Bureau and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention<\/strong>. It is arranging shuttle transportation for staff to attend vaccination appointments and grants staff two full days of paid vaccine leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-legislators-ask-for-an-evaluation-of-gaming-licensees\">increase the vaccination rate<\/a>\u00a0in Macau, casino operators MGM China and Sands China are hosting vaccination services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>MGM China&nbsp;<\/strong>will host vaccinations on May 24 and 25.&nbsp;<strong>Sands China&nbsp;<\/strong>from May 31 to June 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to health authorities,\u00a0<strong>90,267 people in Macau have been vaccinated\u00a0<\/strong>with at least one dose \u2013 nearly 13 per cent of Macau&#8217;s population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dr Leong Iek Hou<\/strong>, Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre coordinator, said <strong>vaccinated residents<\/strong>\u00a0will be allowed to go to public events such as concerts, sports competitions and festivals\u00a0<strong>without a negative nucleic acid test<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In April,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-melco-resorts-revenue-down-36-in-q1\">Melco Resorts<\/a>\u00a0reported<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>that income came in at US$520m during the first quarter of the year. That represents\u00a0<strong>a decrease of 36 per cent in comparison with the US$810m produced during the same period of 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fall is expected considering the ongoing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the<strong>&nbsp;decline in inbound tourism<\/strong>.&nbsp;<strong>Lawrence Ho, president, and general director of Melco&nbsp;<\/strong>said that the company had seen a moderate recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-melco-resorts-revenue-down-36-in-q1\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Melco<\/a>&nbsp;also announced the launch of several programmes for voluntary extended leave or voluntary redundancy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The \u201cNew Chapter\u201d voluntary exit programme offers Melco<strong>&nbsp;employees up to 12 months base salary with guaranteed tips to exit the company to seek other opportunities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Employees can also apply for a special leave arrangement on 40 per cent&nbsp;<\/strong>of monthly salary for between six and twelve months, with permission to work elsewhere.
