{"id":18,"date":"2019-10-04T05:36:14","date_gmt":"2019-10-04T05:36:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=18"},"modified":"2026-04-24T10:32:35","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T13:32:35","slug":"vietnams-corona-casino-profits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/vietnams-corona-casino-profits","title":{"rendered":"Vietnam\u2019s Corona Casino shows profits in only six months"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Corona Resort and Casino, posted a pre-tax profit of \u20ac4,28 million during its first six months of operation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vietnam.- Corona Casino \u2013 the first casino in Vietnam where Vietnamese people can gamble \u2013 has reported a gross profit of <strong>\u20ac11,9 million <\/strong>and pre-tax profit of <strong>\u20ac4,3 million<\/strong> after only six months of operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Phu Quoc Tourism Development and Investment<\/strong>, which is the investor of the Corona Resort &amp; Casino complex, published in its financial report that Corona has generated overall revenues of \u20ac24 million. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The casino (which represents 53% of the company\u2019s revenue)\nis the only trading sector generating gross profit for Phu Quoc Tourism\nDevelopment and Investment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This January, <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/vietnam-corona-casino-open\"><strong><em>Corona Casino, became the first five-star casino in Vietnam to allow for locals to gamble.<\/em><\/strong><\/a> Another project is expected to open in northern Vietnam, which would also grant permission to locals to gamble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The gaming venue was created by <strong>Steelman Partners LLP<\/strong> &#8211; involved in the design of several large casino projects in Asia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/vietnam-lift-locals-ban\"><em><strong>The government lifted a ban on Vietnamese gambling<\/strong><\/em><\/a> in casinos in March 2017 following a decree in January 2017.
