The regulator has remitted Php1.6bn cash dividends despite a weak performance due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The Philippines.- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR)<\/strong> has remitted Php1.6bn<\/strong> to the National Treasury this week. The sum corresponds to its entire net earnings from 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PAGOR<\/a>\u00a0revenue in 2020 was\u00a0US$624m, down 60.4 per cent<\/strong> when compared to the previous year and the lowest for at least seven years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In January,\u00a0it remitted an extra Php1bn (US$20.7m) <\/strong>corresponding to cash dividends for the year 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Philippines casinos were deeply affected by the Covid-19 countermeasures<\/strong> and continue to suffer the consequences of the pandemic. Metro Manila casinos<\/a>\u00a0remain closed until at least May 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Andrea Domingo said: “Through our prudent use of funds, we are able to support the government\u2019s significant endeavours<\/strong>, especially our battle against Covid-19.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to increase revenue,\u00a0PAGCOR<\/a>\u00a0has allowed three Integrated Resorts – Okada Manila Resort, Solaire Resort and Casino and Resorts World Manila<\/strong>– to offer online table games and slots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regulator<\/a>\u00a0has also allowed two e-sabong operators<\/strong> and hopes to collect between Php250 and Php350m per month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
