Australia.- Steve McCann has been appointed as the new CEO<\/strong> and managing director of Crown Resorts with effect from June 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The appointment comes three months after former\u00a0Crown Resorts<\/a>\u00a0CEO Ken Barton left the company <\/strong>following criticism in\u00a0Patricia Bergin’s report<\/a>\u00a0in New South Wales inquiry into the casino operator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n McCann is currently group chief executive officer at real estate and investment group Lendlease Corporation<\/strong>, a role he has held for more than a decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Crown Resorts reported that McCann will leave Lendlease Corporation’s board on May 31, 2021<\/strong> to <\/strong>join Crown upon receipt of all probity and regulatory approvals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Helen Coonan will continue to perform her executive responsibilities as interim executive chairman<\/strong> on Crown’s board until McCann has received the necessary approvals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Coonan said: “Steve is a first-class appointment for Crown <\/strong>and the right person to embed the ongoing reforms necessary to restore regulatory and public confidence in our operations.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Steve McCann said: “I am looking forward to joining Crown at a crucial time for the organisation and see a real opportunity to help drive significant shareholder value <\/strong>as the company addresses its challenges and emerges from the constraints of the pandemic.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Steve McCann will assume his new role as CEO of Crown Resorts on June 1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":17770,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Steve McCann has been appointed CEO and Managing Director of Crown Resorts, effective June 1, pending all probity and regulatory approvals.
