{"id":17700,"date":"2021-05-10T14:05:12","date_gmt":"2021-05-10T14:05:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=17700"},"modified":"2026-04-23T19:42:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T22:42:28","slug":"bloomberry-ggr-up-29-in-q1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/bloomberry-ggr-up-29-in-q1","title":{"rendered":"Bloomberry GGR up 29% in Q1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Philippine casino operator has revealed financial results for the first quarter of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The Philippines.- Casino operator&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/bloomberry-returns-to-positive-ebitda\">Bloomberry<\/a>&nbsp;has reported&nbsp;<strong>gross gambling revenue of PHP6.9bn (US$144.2m)<\/strong> for Q1, down 44 per cent year-on-year but&nbsp;<strong>up 29 per cent when compared to the previous quarter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consolidated&nbsp;<strong>net EBITDA at Bloomberry&#8217;s Solaire Resort &amp; Casino in Manila for the period was PHP1.49bn (US$31.2m)<\/strong>, down 58.2 per cent on the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the numbers are lower than last year,&nbsp;<strong>Bloomberry showed a sequential improvement<\/strong>&nbsp;when compared to the last quarter of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Net loss came in at PHP780.8m (US$16.3m)<\/strong>, which represents an improvement from PHP2.5bn (US$52.2m) in the fourth quarter of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bloomberry reported&nbsp;<strong>mass table, electronic gaming GGR and VIP<\/strong>&nbsp;up 27 per cent, 12 per cent and 65 per cent respectively when compared to the previous quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enrique K. Razon, Jr., Bloomberry chairman and CEO, said: &#8220;Despite the challenges, the company generated&nbsp;<strong>solid results in the first three months of 2021&nbsp;<\/strong>with gaming revenues, EBITDA and the bottom line improving from the previous quarter.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/bloomberry-puts-back-opening-date-for-philippines-ir\">Bloomberry<\/a>&nbsp;is also developing a&nbsp;<strong>new Philippine casino resort<\/strong>&nbsp;in Quezon City.&nbsp;<strong>The Solaire North IR project&nbsp;<\/strong>originally scheduled for completion by 2022 is now <strong>expected to open until 2023<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/metro-manila-casinos-to-remain-closed-until-at-least-may-14\">Solaire Resort and Casino<\/a><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>in Manila remains closed as the government has announced the extension of&nbsp;<strong>Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ)<\/strong>&nbsp;until at least May 14.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Philippine casino operator has revealed financial results for the first quarter of the year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":17719,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Bloomberry reported Q1 GGR of PHP6.9bn, a 44% YoY decline but a 29% sequential improvement, with a net loss of PHP780.8m, significantly better than Q4 2020.
