The first day was the peak, with 44,000\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-receives-99568-tourists-during-first-week-of-april\">arrivals<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Five-star hotels saw an 84.8 per cent occupancy rate<\/strong>,\u00a0while for three-star hotels the occupancy rate was 86.6 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the MGTO, the\u00a0rate <strong>was 34.6 percentage points better<\/strong>\u00a0than that seen during the Chinese New Year holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Analysts have estimated that Macau&#8217;s GGR during the\u00a0Labour Day break\u00a0reached nearly\u00a0<strong>MOP400m (US$50m)<\/strong> per day, between 40 per cent and 50 per cent of pre-pandemic levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Macau may reach half of pre-pandemic <strong>GDP <\/strong><\/strong><strong>in 2021<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Macau News Agency, Fitch Ratings has predicted that this year <strong>the SAR could reach 53 per cent of Gross domestic product (GDP) levels seen before the pandemic.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Macau remains <strong>highly dependant on an easing of travel restrictions and a strong vaccination plan.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Macau hotels and guest houses registered an occupancy rate of 83.2 per cent, which represents a 34.9 percentage point improvement from the 48.3 per cent occupancy rate during the Chinese New Year holiday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":17667,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Macau experienced an 83.2% hotel occupancy rate during the Labour Day break, significantly surpassing the Chinese New Year holiday and previous predictions.
